Maundy Thursday
Seven Significant Events Leading Up to the Arrest of Jesus

Today marks one of the most sacred and emotionally rich days of Holy Week—Maundy Thursday. It’s the night Jesus gathered with His disciples for the Last Supper, washed their feet in a striking act of humility, and gave them a new commandment: “Love one another as I have loved you.” It’s the night He instituted Communion, prayed in anguish in the Garden of Gethsemane, and predicted Peter’s denial. It’s also the night that began the sequence of events leading to His arrest, trial, and crucifixion.

In today’s devotion, I walk through seven key events that happened on Maundy Thursday and reflect on their deep spiritual meaning. From the significance of bread and wine to the connection with Melchizedek and Jesus’ role as our eternal High Priest, there is so much to take in and apply to our own faith journey.

Whether you’re taking Communion tonight, serving someone in your home or community, or simply reflecting on the extraordinary love of Christ, I invite you to read this reflection and let it lead your heart into deeper gratitude, humility, and devotion. This is a night of remembrance—and a call to live out His love.

From the fig tree to the Temple courts, every moment was filled with prophetic purpose.
